  • We help you explore how work affects your mental health — even if you’re not currently off sick from Talking Therapist.
  • We’ll guide you in understanding your emotional responses to workplace pressures and how to manage them effectively.

Empowering Conversations

  • We support you in preparing for conversations with your line manager, HR, Occupational Health, GP, or Union reps — helping you feel more confident and informed.
  • We may also signpost you to specialist external services for additional advice and support.

Practical Support to Stay in Work

  • We promote coping strategies from Talking Therapy to help you manage stress and stay well at work.
  • We’ll work with you to identify areas of concern and agree on practical, achievable solutions.
  • One-to-one support helps you set realistic goals to maintain your employment.

Talking About Mental Health at Work

  • We’ll help you feel confident discussing your mental health with your employer.
  • We support you in raising concerns constructively to inform reasonable adjustments that make your work more manageable.

Navigating Workplace Processes

  • We provide guidance on workplace Occupational Health, HR policies, and how to access support like Access to Work.
  • We’ll help you understand your rights and options, and how to advocate for yourself effectively.

Planning for the Future

  • We offer advice on preventing future mental health-related sickness and presenteeism.
  • We’ll support you in deciding whether to disclose health conditions to your employer — and how to do so safely and appropriately.

If you are suffering from anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, low mood or excessive worry, NHS Talking Therapies can provide you with advice, guidance and support.

Our feedback has shown, by providing psychologically informed employment focussed interventions, individuals have reported feeling more empowered and therefore achieving improved mental health and employment outcomes.
