Health leaders in West Essex are strengthening the provision of local mental health services for patients by making it easier to access mental health support as Vita Health Group take over the NHS Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service.
From the 1st of July 2021, Vita Health Group will provide its VitaMinds talking therapy service with local partners MIND in West Essex for the population of West Essex which includes Harlow, Uttlesford and Epping.
Vita will provide a range of psychological therapies for depression, anxiety and access to community support and wellbeing packages to adults 16-years and over who live and are registered with a GP in West Essex.
Commenting on the new service, Joanne Reay, Primary Care & Older Adult Mental Health and Vulnerable Adults from West Essex Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “Vita Health Group has an outstanding track record for delivering accredited psychological therapies across the UK. The restrictions put in place to tackle COVID-19 have had a significant impact on peoples’ lives and it has been a challenging and difficult time for many. The health and wellbeing of our local residents are an absolute priority, and we are delighted to be improving the access and quality of support alongside Vita Health Group.”
